Burton – Store of the Future – Denver
During my time on the Events & Environments Squad at Burton we were tasked with a multi-year project working with outside agencies to create the "Burton Store of the Future" a model that would be applied globally to all new and old stores alike. Taking learnings from Starch Creative and applying our unique Burton take on a modern shopping experience, we meticulously combed through every detail along the customer journey. From window and initiative stage displays to archive exhibits and community zones, we touched on everything from material and color pallets to working with fixture vendors to create custom, layered displays, unique to Burton.
Along with a new fixture package and store layout we created a Visual Merchandising Manual and Fixture Graphic Guide that including fixture templates and best practices (both confidential) that established detailed guidelines to assist our production designers, merchandising team, and store associates in creating the best experience for our customers. From inhale and attract moments to point-of-sale, every detail was considered.

Burton – Exterior Signage – Global Design & Direction
New brand guidelines and new stores means we need updated brand signs. I was personally tasked with designing our new exterior signage package. Combining my building and drafting experience with my design and branding knowledge, I created in-depth guidelines covering materials, color palette, finishes, logo usage, spacing, lighting, and more. Take a look below to see how the signs came to life across the globe.

HBO X RedBull X Burton – 'Dear Rider,' Film Premier
Archive Installation
Dear Rider, The Jake Burton Story, is a documentary film about Burton founder Jake Burton Carpenter created by HBO and RedBull Media House. The film was screened in various locations around the country. To enhance these events, I was tasked with working alongside our archivist Todd Kohlman to curate an interactive archive chronicling Jake’s Journey, told through 13 iconic boards and experiences. The final wall in the gallery invited people to Join in honoring Jake’s Legacy by snapping a photo with a Lieca instant print camera (Jake's favorite) and leaving a note about how his spirit, and snowboarding, has changed your life. I designed the display fixtures, floor plan, graphics, screen printed gift bad (from scrap outerwear material) & gift bag items (branded: stickers, rolling papers, lighter, tissues etc.).

Burton – Santa Monica – Brand Wall
When we moved our L.A. store to Santa Monica I was tasked with designing the new brand wall. These brand walls highlighted the connection between the brand and the local area & culture. I created this layout incorporating framed archival images, copy speaking to the local area & culture, die-cut metal brand sign, TV screens, and hand painted mural using illustrations by artist & designer Maris Turner. When it came time for install I flew to CA, purchased a projector, and joined in the store to hand paint the background mural. No vinyl wrap here!
